George Glover, the long-time keyboard player with Climax Blues Band, has received this year’s BlueBird Outstanding Blues Artist Award.
This prestigious award recognizes an outstanding blues artist’s lifetime achievement. For George Glover, it’s in recognition as a “keyboard wizard.”
The certificate translates as, “The keyboard player, singer, composer and band leader has made a special contribution to the dissemination of blues, jazz and soul. Above all, he has succeeded in combining Afro-American music with European styles. George Glover is a worldwide ambassador of The Sound of Freedom, Love and Humanity”.
To quote George Glover, “I am very pleased to have received the Bluebird Award from my good friend Ben Schmidt, who came all the way from Weinheim, Germany, to present it.
I appreciate being amongst many musicians who have received this award, including the great BB King. Thank You, Ben.”
